Using Wordpress to Edit your Money Making Website

So you have already read my first two Money Making Online posts. (if not click the MAKE MONEY ONLINE Tab at the top of this Website and read each post in order).
You now have a basic website with a basic theme but no content (information). This post shows you how to use the WordPress Dashboard to create a more pleasing appearance and enrich your website with valuable information.
To get to your Word Press Dashboard you will type in your domain name followed by /wp-admin
example – www.domainname.com/wp-admin
Login with your pre-chosen username and password. You will now see your Wordpress dashboard. It is here you can write posts and pages. Add plugins, themes, widgets etc… (All will be explained)
TIP: I recommend clicking SETTINGS then PERMALINKS and change COMMON SETTINGS to CUSTOM STRUCTURE Type in /%postname%/ and save the changes. This gives you the chance to use KEYWORDS in your post and page URLS.
To change the appearance of your website you will need a new theme. Open another tab in your Internet browser and visit www.eblogtemplates.com
You will find many free Wordpress themes there, I suggest browsing them until you find the one suitable for your site. There are many other sites that provide Worldpress themes too, you can find them by searching on google.
Once you have found your chosen theme, download it. It will be in a zip file format (themename.zip) but don’t extract it!
Now go back to your Wordpress dashboard and click APPEARANCE, then ADD NEW THEME followed by UPLOAD. Finally click BROWSE, choose the theme file you downloaded and click INSTALL!
You will be given confirmation when the new theme has been installed. If everything is ok then click ACTIVATE. Check out your homepage (www.yourdomain.com) and see what it looks like. If you like it then great, if not then repeat the process until you have a theme you’re satisfied with.
Ok so by now, your theme is activated and your website is looking how you want it. Now it’s time to write your first post. By default with Wordpress you will already have a HELLO WORLD post. I suggest deleting that post and writing your own first post. The first post should be a welcome note of 200 – 400 words. In the welcome note just do as the title suggests and welcome all your readers. Describe what your website is about and use plenty of Keywords (find more about keywords HERE). This first post is just to help your website get listed on search engines, in particular Google. To write your first post simply click POSTS in the menu on the left and ADD NEW. Give your post a title and, as I mentioned earlier, make it in the region of 200 – 400 words).
After completing your first post, choose a category (Create a new one if necessary) and write some tags (Keywords) then click PUBLISH
The next step is to get some pages written. Its a very similar process, just click PAGES then ADD NEW. You will more than likely already have an about us page. Simply edit the content (not the title) of the about us page and just write a paragraph of two about your goals or whatever. Anyway, other pages you should consider are as follows
Privacy Policy – I suggest just copying mine and replacing my website name with your own throughout the page.
Contact Us – Just provide your email address on this page as it gives visitors the option to contact you with suggestions etc…
Disclaimer – If you are providing information that is in a grey legal area you should write a page like this to cover yourself
Unique Interesting Page – If you are reading this then my page tab MAKE MONEY ONLINE may have caught your attention, you could write a similar page
Once your first post and all your pages are PUBLISHED (must be published NOT saved as drafts) then it’s time for you to learn how to get your site indexed on google. Indexed on google means that if someone types www.yourdomain.com in the google search engine then your website will appear in the search results.
