Hosting your Future Money Making Website

Ok so if you’re reading this then you have already bought your domain name IF NOT CLICK HERE.
Now you need what is called a ‘Hosting’ package.
What is a Hosting Package? A hosting packing allows you to store your website content on a 24 hour 7 days a week active server. In other words, as you create and update your content on your website, the hosting company will ensure your information will be available at all times to all visitors from all over the world.
There are many hosting companies out there, all with different features. I personally recommend the ‘Baby Croc’ package with HostGator. This package allows you to add unlimited websites to be hosted on one account.
Signup to HostGator HERE The Baby Croc package costs less than $10 a month for hosting of unlimited websites (a small price to pay for the money earning potential).
After signing up to HostGator, or your preferred alternative, you will be emailed the nameservers for your account. There will be 2 and they will look similar to this:-
ns123.hostingdomain.com
ns124.hostingdomain.com
Once you have received your nameservers you will need to redirect your domains to those nameservers.
In my previous post I mentioned GoDaddy as my personal favourite domain registrar. If you signed up there then follow the instructions below on how to change your nameservers for your domain to your new hosting company. If you signed up with a different registrar then the procedure will be different but similar.
1. Login to GoDaddy.com
2. Click MY ACCOUNT
3. Click MY PRODUCTS
4. Choose the domain you want to host and click ADVANCED DETAILS
5. Look for NAMESERVERS and click MANAGE
6. Now replace the nameservers already there with your hosting company’s nameservers (which you will have received via email from your new hosting company).
Repeat the same procedure for any other domains you have bought or that you buy in the future.
Once this has been completed, it is time for you to upload a pre-made theme to your new website via your hosting company. If you took my advice and signed up to host gator then follow the steps below. If you signed up with someone else then the procedure should be similar.
Uploading a theme using HostGator.
1. Login to your HostGator Control Panel (the login link will have been emailed to you)
2. When logged in, scroll all the way down to the Software/Services Menu
3. Click Fantastico De Luxe and you will be taken to another page
4. In the menu on the left click WORDPRESS
5. Select NEW INSTALLATION
6. In the ‘Install on Domain’ box choose the domain you have recently added. In the ‘Admin Access Data’ box choose a username and password (these details are what you will login to your website with every time you want to update your content) Put in your email address in a email admin box and click INSTALL WORDPRESS
7. You will be taken to another page that shows your new website’s login address which will look something like this http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin
Make a note of the details and the username/password you chose then click FINISH INSTALLATION
As soon as the nameservers have successfully changed you will be able to see a basic theme for your website. The transition phase for the change of nameserver can take from a couple of minutes to a day.
